Debbie Jamison is a marriage and family therapist passionate about helping her clients discover a path to true healing, wholeness, and lasting change.

Debbie enjoys guiding her clients on this journey, because she understands very personally the power of therapy.  When Debbie was five, her father was paralyzed, and four years later, passed away. Throughout her childhood, Debbie struggled with grief, anxiety, and fear to a debilitating degree. In high school after not going on a school trip because of a fear of planes, Debbie stumbled upon the incredible self-help book, I Can. This book gave her the tools to begin to work through things on her own and inspired a passion for true transformation. Her journey to healing developed a more compassionate view of herself and changed flawed thoughts into positive and healthy beliefs.

As a wife and mother of four, Debbie continues to do her own self-work, including but not limited to creating boundaries, focusing on the needs of others, and letting her children be who they are. As she will tell you, it is always a work in progress.

Debbie brings a lot of personal and professional experience to the therapy process. She connects easily with most people and helps her clients achieve their goals by using several unique and effective therapy techniques. Debbie is specially trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples and EMDR for trauma-related work. In addition, Debbie uses Mindfulness, Self-compassion and Family/Systemic therapy, customizing sessions to her specific client. These techniques are evidenced based, meaning, they really work. The only thing that Debbie asks is that you show up and be willing to do the work.

Debbie received her Master of Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University and currently has a private practice in Brentwood, TN.
